An immersive theatre experience
Is walking the most natural thing to do for us humans? Is it quite boring, or does walking mean challenge, connecting to places and ourselves in a new way, adventure and freedom? The theatre project Walking invites audiences to discover stories of pilgrims and explorers. Audience members can walk freely around the theatre space and find a large pop-up book, journals, quotes and a short performance – all linked to the theme of walking. They can also make a small paper collage, remember their own travels and engage with a giant map.
The intimate, immersive show is inspired by several books – A Philosophy of Walking by Frédéric Gros, Walking by Erling Kagge and Seven Steeples by Sara Baume, and by stories of Arthur Rimbaud, Eskymo Welzl and different contemporary walkers. It combines performance with objects, paper and collage, and activates all our senses. Walking is a show for adults and families with children 7+.
